Does anyone besides myself notice something? People rant or scoff that the Disney Princesses are just pretty girls, bad images for girls. That they gotta wait for a prince or something like that. As if Disney portrays weak women or just pretty. But have you or they ever stopped to actually watch, to actually notice if you will, the 'princesses' and in fact almost every Disney animated film, specifically those geared to kids, have the female, the girl or woman as the main character? Not only that, but they always are opinionated and stand up for what they believe in? They be themselves, even if the entire town thinks their daft for doing or being so? They ask girls to look at themselves and try to find out who they really are. They encourage girls to be smart, strong and independent, and that yes, there is a Prince Charming. Not that one has to find one right off the bat. In fact, the Prince has always come to her, not the other way around. She minds her own business, and he sees her for who she is and loves her. This is not always impossible, though many in real life struggle to find that one-but in Disney, they make a point. Don't go looking, don't try to force it. Be yourself, really look at who you are and be happy, then someday, you'll find someone who loves you for you. And that is your prince charming. And it encourages one to see the light a the end of the tunnel, and not to let bad things make them a bad or mean spirited person, to still be yourself, regardless of what has happened. Even if you don't get anything in return, a true good person will be nice (but not a push over) without asking for thanks in return. But is grateful when they are thanked or appreciated. So please, all in all, there is nothing wrong with being or liking Disney Princesses. I mean, this is Disney, the same company that produced Kim Possible! One of the best female tv show heroines of this generation for kids/girls! We need more of Disney Girl/Women characters, then the hoochy mama dolls (Bratz) they give kids now adays.
Give a Disney Girl some credit.
Ask any fan of Kim Possible.
